Book Review: ‘Gender, Embodiment, and the History of the Scholarly Persona: Incarnations and Contestations’

I’m thrilled to have had my first academic book review published.

This is my review of ‘Gender, Embodiment, and the History of the Scholarly Persona: Incarnations and Contestations’, edited by Kirsti Niskanen, Michael J. Barany, for the ‘Emotion, Space and Society’ Journal.

While on the surface this book review might not seem entirely relevant to my PhD research, the parallels between intersectional discrimination in Western academia and the metal scene are stronger than you might think.

I really enjoyed revisiting the realms of Nineteenth-Century Culture as this was the topic area for my BA and MA!
