I’m sure I’ve used that Shakespeare quotation before…

It aptly suits the topic of this blog post so we’ll have to risk the possibility of repetition!

For those of you in bands, or aspiring to be a solo artist, the music industry can be a difficult place in which to wedge your foot in the door. I imagine this to be a rather solid, heavy oak door. Something one might find at a large manor house or even a castle… I digress. With my metal band Disconnected Souls and my business Deviate PR, I’m trying to experiment with new approaches that may help benefit others who are trying to ‘get out there’.

One thing we have been doing with the band is creating playthrough videos of some of our tracks. This is a way for us to create (hopefully) interesting content, which during this difficult time is a distraction I think many people want. The videos are proving to be reasonably successful thus far. Below is our first video, a guitar playthrough of our most popular track (according to Spotify) ‘Divergence’:
