As October is now officially underway, the dreary nights, continuous rain and biting cold creates a desire to return to the warmer months.
Here in the UK 2018 saw a rather unusually warm summer which had a great effect, particularly for music festivals being held. It makes a huge difference not to be swimming in mud when listening to live music.
Techfest 2018 was an incredible festival, despite the intense heat and occurrence of a small tornado!

2018 also saw the debut of Burn It Down Festival in Torquay.

The music scene continues to grow with new bands, new events and new festivals showing themselves every year. Even though the warmer months have gone by for this year, the music scene has not gone with it. The next few months will see many releases in time for December which are often accompanied by tours.
Some up and coming releases to look out for in the alternative music genres include:
- Muse
- Within Temptation
- Disturbed
- Delain
- Vola
- Architects
- Avril Lavigne
